The End

When the year started I didn't think that it was gonna be filled with such emotional whirlwinds and whatnot. I've always had better luck on even-numbered years you know, but 2010 proved to be the opposite! haha, well, at least I am still able to laugh about this.

So what happened? Well, I prefer to keep this to myself. But whatever it is, it shall serve as a lesson for me to not over analyse, over think and over (re)act.

Having said this, I have to admit that I wished that things would have been different. Sometimes I wish that I wasn't too smart or too knowledgeable or too resourceful! But then again, being all that is what made me where and who I am today.

So Ladies & Gentlemen, that was THE END. Wish me luck the next time! ;)

Just keep swimming

Dory: Hey there, Mr. Grumpy Gills. When life gets you down do you wanna know what you've gotta do?

Marlin: No, I don't wanna know.

Dory: [singing] Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming. What do we do? We swim, swim.

Marlin: Dory, no singing.

Dory: [continuing] Ha, ha, ha, ha, ho. I love to swim. When you want to swim you want to swim.

Marlin: Now I'm stuck with that song... Now it's in my head.

Dory: Sorry.

my hands are itching to bake

Oh I can't wait to get my hands on these cute delectable Coraline-inspired button cookies.
Its baking season again!

Yum yum. By the way, Coraline is one of my most favourite book in the whole wide world! Really, I'm not kidding. This is my rendition of Coraline's other mother (which I drew using the Autocad Sketch Mobile from my IPod):

I know, I'm NOT the greatest artist in the world but gimme a break k? I was labeled 'Picasso' when I was in school and believe me that it WASN'T a compliment. Jahat kawan2 I tau, lol. Those were the days, sigh.

thankful

When I left my previous work with a humanitarian NGO, I vowed to myself that I would never quit doing humanitarian work - even after I've quit doing it as a full-time job.

But alas, it is easy to 'forget' to volunteer when its not part of your daily routine. I have so many plans to do this and that with this organisation or that center that now I feel embarassed that none of them have yet to materialise.

Fortunately though, I am thankful and utterly glad that at least one was completed and this one exceeded my expectations! My plan was to raise fund for my wheelchair-bound friend to purchase a new wheelchair as his current one is already starting to fall apart. Thank God, it has been quite an easy path for us with this project as after approaching Universiti Hospital, they have also agreed to sponsor the purchase provided that we pay for the first RM 1,000 of the price of the item.

Hence, I immediately started my fundraising campaign in early January to raise RM 1,000 so we can expedite the purchase before this friend of mine's wheelchair falls apart. And after 2 months, alhamdulillah, our fund now has reached RM 1,250 and by the looks of it more are coming in! This is just proof that if you look and try hard enough, you will see that Malayisa is blessed with beautiful and precious angels.

To all the angels, God bless you and Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Hugs n kisses,

Rise above the occasion

That has always been my favourite quote/saying on top of ALL the others. Yes, even Rumi's can't top this one. This has brought me through darkness, failure and sadness. And it shall again this time.

I shall rise above this.
I shall rise above this.

Life or whatchamacallit

I am going away to Singapore this weekend with a good friend to (supposedly) de-stress and de-clutter. From what? Well, I personally do not know for sure. Possibly from the events that have been happening in the past month or so. Sigh, they ain't kiddin' when they say that life is a whirlwind. pheew...

Which reminds me of a poem about life (entitled 'Life', duhh) that I wrote. Sadly, its gone along with the thousand of data (memories :(( ) which were stored in my portable hard disk that crashed. I did remember it was a Charles Bukowski-inspired poem since I was really into him at the time.  I was so proud.. :D ngee.

Please dear God, how do I do this? I'm so afraid.

Incidentally, World Book Day is coming up from 4 - 7 March 2010. Weird. How can you call it a 'Day' when it lasts for four? Nvm, am not about to ponder on this. I've been told that I over-analyse things so I'm trying to stop doing just that. From now on, it's short, staccato sentences and thoughts. Like. Hate. Oh. My. God. Huh? Crazy. Yeay. Maybe. Ok. WTF
